Obtaining an Online ID

Most of BCRA's online content is Open Access – either the downloads are free (indicated by an open padlock next to the reference) or, if they are articles in Cave & Karst Science, you can apply for a free online ID. You do not need to do that in advance as it is part of the procedure for downloading a document. For the CREG journal, you need to pay a small fee using the CREG Journal Order Form.

Click/Tap a link or scroll on down.

Where is the Online Content?

Go to our Bookshop Landing Page to see a list of our Catalogues. Click on a Catalogue to go to its Bibliograph listings.

How An Online ID works

You do not need an online ID to view any lists of items in our Bibliograph listings. You only need an ID if you actually want to read an article. You do not have to log in first. You will be asked to log in only after you have tried to download an item that requires a login. At that point you can request a free monthly login for Cave & Karst Science. For other items, the procedures are described below.

Access to CREG Journals

From July 2024 a standard BCRA Member's ID does not give access to the CREG journal.

You can purchase an annual login for the CREG journal by using the CREG Journal Order Form. If you pay for a subscription on paper, this comes with a free online ID, otherwise there is a small charge for the ID.

The reason for this is that – like all of BCRA's Special Interest Groups – CREG receives no central funding from BCRA, and so it charges a small subscription to help fund its operations.

Subscriber Access to C&KS

If you are a Non-Member Subscriber to Cave and Karst Science we can issue you with a free yearly login, on request. This option is suitable for libraries, universities and other organisations that subscribe to C&KS.

We can also issue you with IP access on request. Please email to request access.

IDs for Other BCRA Content

As explained above, BCRA's online content falls into one of the following groups...

If you need the last option in the list above – Members-Only Access – then you will need to become a member of BCRA by going to our Membership and Subscriptions page. Once your membership has been processed, you should then contact us for an ID (see next section below). Apologies; this process is not yet automatic and could take a few days for it to be attended to manually.
