Joining a Zoom Meeting

Pre-Register for the Science Symposium
To join the Zoom meeting for the BCRA Science Symposium, please
register. There is no fee, and you do not need to be a
member of BCRA. If you only wish to attend our AGM, please read the AGM information below. Also
see See AGM information for info on how to log in to the
AGM.
Basic Information
- You are advised to download and install the Zoom program in advance. See
below.
- If you wish to attend the BCRA AGM you should edit your Zoom profile to be your real
name — e.g. not Fred, or Old Caver, but Fred Smith.
- If you wish to attend the BCRA AGM you should have your BCA or BCRA membership card to
hand during the meeting, as you will need them. See below.
Setting Up Zoom
You are advised to download and install the Zoom program in advance, from
Zoom Client for Meetings. If you do
not do this in advance you will be prompted to do it when you join a meeting, and you could have
to spend several minutes installing it and working out how to use it. It is also possible to
attend a Zoom meeting via a web browser, but this is not recommended unless you cannot get Zoom to
install properly. To join the meeting please follow the instructions you were given when you
registered.
Attending the AGM
You should edit your Zoom profile to be your real name — e.g. not Fred, or
Old Caver, but Fred Smith.
You should have your BCA or BCRA membership card to hand during the meeting, as you will
be asked to use Zoom's chat facility to send your membership number to the recorder of the
meeting. If you do not do this, you will not be counted as present and any vote you make will not
be recognised.

on how to log in to the meeting.
- Your BCRA membership number is the same as your BCA number, and can be found on
your BCA membership card. It is a number with up to five digits, e.g. 12398.
- Your BCRA online access codes can be given instead of your membership number.
These appear on your BCRA membership card and look like this: SmithF0622===12AB45. We just
need the last six digits of this string, e.g. 12AB45.
