A brief description of each of the journals for which an index has been compiled is given below (see Journal Data). Versions of these indexes are available here pre-sorted either by author or by subject (see also Subject Listing). The Cave Radio and Electronics Group was founded in 1988 as a Specialist Interest Group within BCRA. A newsletter was published sporadically from September that year, becoming quarterly from No. 6 in December 1991. The title of "CREG Journal" was adopted from issue No. 10 in December 1992 and publication has since continued quarterly, in the same numerical sequence. An Author Index is available here and a Subject Index is now in preparation. The full index to CREG Journal can also be searched online - either by author, by subject or by title.
CREG Newsletter Nos 1 - 9 were edited by David Gibson. From Journal Nos 10 to 44 the editor was Mike Bedford; Keith Jackson edited Journal Nos 45 and 46; John Rabson Nos 47 to 55; and Mike Bedford Nos 56 to 58. The current editor is Rob Gill.

The separate newsletter "Compass Points" was first published in 1993 as an optional extra for Cave Radio Group members; but in September 1996 the Cave Surveying Group was floated as a separate Special Interest Group within BCRA. Compass Points was published quarterly from 1993 to issue 26 in December 1999 but subsequently, following a two year gap to June 2002, publication has been notably more sporadic.
A version of the new index is available here pre-sorted either by author or by subject. Some papers on cave surveying had already appeared in earlier issues of CREG Journal. The full index to Compass Points can also be searched online - either by author, by subject or by title.
Compass Points Nos 1 - 25 were edited by Wookey. Ben Cooper edited issue No 26 and since issue No 27 the editor has been Anthony Day.
